Rhone Magic (Le Petit Sommelier Restaurant): Surprisingly more feminine and fruit-driven compared to E. Guigal Cote-Rotie Brune & Blonde from the same vintage. Dark ruby. Meaty aromas combined with chocolate, dark berries, spices and floral scents. Med+ bodied with opulent fruit, round tannins amd balancing acidity. Long aftertaste. It is wellcome to see that even entry-level wines from such great producers are of such fine quality.

Spicy nose with nutmeg, black pepper, deep dark berry fruit concentration and raw meat tones. Also notes of chocolate, prunes and scorched earth. Powerful concentrated wine with high level and quality of tannins, good balancing acidity. Drinking well now but will benefit from cellaring.

Light ruby. Lovely rich concentrated fruit, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, meat, leather & a surprisingly floral aspect too. Medium body & dusty tannins. Concentrated dusty ripe fruit on the palate too. Am really torn between this and the Côte Rotie...

Purple. Great nose with currants, violets and pepper. Typical young Hermitage. Full bodied with rich but elegant tannins, good fruit and balancing acidity. Long, spicy finish. A great value Hermitage from a great winemaker. Now-2016
