  • Medium to intense golden colour without any amber or orange tint. This has indeed an outstanding nose and palate, intense and complex with different citrus notes as lime e.g., honey, pine, smoky slate notes, tropical fruits, pears, spices. On the palate, as one can expect at this age, it has shed a lot of its sweetness and the acidity is refreshing. Outstanding wine with a decade to go or longer if the cork is renewed. A bit more intensity and length and it would be extraordinary. 5/14/17/10

  • Golden without orange or amber tint. Guess my facial expression when I've poured this and it foams and bubbles. Obviously this bottle underwent a second fermentation. The cork was pressed out only 1 or 2 mm. So probably a rare flawed bottle, that nevertheless is smelling and tasting great. An auslese of this age has shed most of its sweetness, this even more because of the fermentation. Ripe apples, petrol, smoky slate and spicy notes. If it would has been labeled as a sparkling wine, I would rate it 5/12/16/9. My only flawed bottle yet, that gives pleasure.

  • An amazing nose of petrol, minerals, acetone, sweet pear and a bit of green apple. It's actually not as sweet on the palate as I expected.
