attempted to pair this with "corned ham" (essentially dry brined pork roast) and it was too big for the meal. slightly bitter black cherries, some earth and hint of brett. not old by any means, certainly in its drinking window but i don't see it fading anytime soon.

Coravin sample from a new bottle. Starting do develop towards maturity with hints of molten leaves, dark raspberry, strawberry. Resolved tannins, lean but still generous fruit without tipping to heavy (like I remember the 2009 was). Good acidity levels and a very nice finish. Again this delivers better than expected. In a good drinking window. 92p

Nice Burgundy PN aromas of red fruit and clove, cinnamon. Elegant and lean but not astingent in any way, with good fruit and acidity. Better than expected. Will last but in a good spot now.

Some Grand Crus are more equal than others - this bears that out with a pinched, clipped finish. Decent enough and showing some evolution from a couple of years back but this shows the limitations of the terroir in relation to other Grand Crus. Red fruit, cherry and funky little streak running through it - nice enough but there is a touch of drying tannin in here that adds some bitterness to the finish.
