Sydney Burgundy Celebration (Sydney, Australia): Bretty, dusty, dark florals and blackcurrant. Brett shows on the palate too with a metallic twinge. I don't mind a little brett but this was too much for me.

Burgundy Tasting (Ivy, George Street, Sydney): funky, yeast extract, meaty, savoury over slight red berry fruit - quite forward nose. In the mouth there are flavours of sweet red berries tending to leatheriness then beginning to dry and joined by spicy tight tannin. Rather lovely

Very spicy, ripe red/black fruit, medicinal tones and deft oak spice. Fairly big in context with moderately chewy tannins and a slightly clamped, dry finish. Not a wine of finesse but rather a bit broad shouldered and slightly rough hewn, but not overworked. Excellent value at closeout pricing and should improve for years...

(Mongeard-Mugneret Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots) Dark red violet color; high pitched cherry and dried cherry nose; earthy tart red fruit, cherry and cranberry palate with big, firm tannins, needs several years; medium-plus finish

Lovely, fruity burg. Did not find significant brett as others had. PnP. Good match with mushroom pizza.

Nice but a bit flat still. Need more time to develop potential. Nose bigger than taste.
