Served by the glass at Lameloise 8/17/2015. I wonder if this is really the same wine as what others have tasted since what I had was mind-blowing. Perfect balance, towering structure, very elegant, satisfying both mind and heart. Perhaps they bottle something different under the same label for export?

Nose apple toffee and intermittent dill. Perfumed, dusty lavender and wild herbs. Incredibly complex, beautiful nose and palate. Delicate and sophisticated.

Opened and consumed without a decant but any aeration to the wine I think would have been unnecessary as it drank pretty open knit. Two things stood out--first, lots of strawberry and raspberry fruit, mainly the former, and secondly, drank kind of what I perceived to be sweet. Was not syrupy or candied in that way but the lack of rusticity/tannin and tension left the wine with what seemed to be singlular fruit. I had no experience with the producer, well a lot of Burgundy is still new to me. Paid 40 bucks. Would I buy again? Probably would roll the 40 bucks into something that would be 75, that offered more of what I listed above.

Initially thin, with a weak finish. High acid.

and this was middle of the road. Very light and feminine, not a lot of depth or wow factor. No major faults though.
