Chicago: wine, food, friends...cigars!; 9/17/2014-9/20/2014 (Blackbird, Les Nomades, Naha, with lunch at Shaw's Crab House): {en magnum} Dark color, even in this format. With a 6 hour Audoze (and a slight chill), this was totally ready to go. In a magical place right now, with untold layers of sweetly laden orchard, citrus and stone fruits. With time, some chamomile tea, brittle, minerals and fresh honeycomb emerge. Stunning on night 1, this was firmly in the epic camp on night two, more so when paired with a very creative foie gras dish at Naha. A huge thanks to drycab for sharing this treasure. Never cloying, always mystical. very highly recommended

Wine Dinner at 12B (Vancouver, BC): No formal notes. From 375ml. Opened and served right away. Can drink now or can hold for 100 years. Outstanding. 94+
