Broken Bones Book Signing & Wine Tasting (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Dark honey colored. Smells oily, with pineapple, honey, some caramel and cinnamon, also some yellow apple and apricot. Tastes of baked yellow apple and dried mango, rich and oily but a bit flabby. Some nice dried herb and cinnamon notes. I feel like the wine falls out on the midpalate, like it shouldn't have been aged for this long. Still, some fun flavors, and a nice shot of dried fruit and honey on the finish.

Ripe, tropical aromatics laced with vanilla. Full-bodied with sneaky complexity and a clean, silky texture. Apple, pineapple, melon, pear, and toasty oak flavors. Picks up a note of dried thyme on the backpalate before closing with a butterscotch-infused stonefruit finish. Very good.

PnP. Clear, med straw color. Proper and clean Chard nose. Served chilled, better with some glass/warm up time. Med body, good balance, just a hint of oak, great fruit, smooth, long clean finish. Nothing off, better than expected. Good value, nicely made.

Very odd wine: pale, pale gold; hardly a nose, and the quickest finish I've had in memory. Tasted of sweet pear and perhaps apple, with smooth oak character that was not overbearing and a nice, acidic back end. Still, almost nothing before or after.

Liked this chardonnay. Not oaky at all, nice full body with a little vanilla and smooth finish. For the price, definitely worth a shot.
