A real stunner right now. Decanted for about a half-hour, but excellent straight from the bottle. Cherries, blackberry, olive and a subtle gaminess, plenty of spice and floral notes. Palate is rich and full, but not in the least overwhelming. Everything is integrated and smooth. An absolute repurchase if I can find it.
What a treat this wine is...! Dark ruby color, white very narrow rim, medium body. Nose: opens with cherries and plums, dark berries, some dark jam, cedar, spices with very noticeable lavender. On the palate: tasty, silky, balanced - everything in place, fresh, structured and tasty (again :-). Long finish - 40 seconds plus. I think this is very good time to open and enjoy this wine, although it may even improve a bit more in couple of years.
Decanted for an hour. Light, sweet berry notes on the palate with typical for CDP low acidity. Some nice secondary and tertiary notes as well. Fairly mellow but tannins are not thin either, should get only better with more years of cellaring.
Rhone Valley red wines: St. Cosme (Houston, TX): Pleasant aromas of olives and dark chocolate on the nose. Cherries, raspberries and blackberries on the palate, with undernotes of oak and allspice. Upfront fruit lends space to more savory notes as this wine keeps on bringing out more complex flavors.
