  • Orange, marzipan, caramel and aged honey on nose. Mandarin, orange peel and almond with a touch of aged oak and smoke on the finish. Toffee apple and caramel. The orange and orange peel notes quite dominant also providing some acidity.

Overall perhaps just lacking in acidic freshness and multilayered complexity to be a truly great example. Still enjoyable and a gorgeous amber gold colour fit for the Coronation of King Charles III that we were watching while we drank this!

  • A superb showing for the 76 Climens, bitter orange, fresh sugar; the beautiful fresh sweetness is balanced by a savory mushroom and cheese rind edge on the palate which imparts great interest.

  • Deeper orange-yellow colour. Definitely tasted 'mature' but still drinking very well. Fewer honey-sweet notes compared to younger Sauternes and much more pronounced woody or even smokey base notes.

Wonderful balance with a striking lemon acidity cutting through. Decent longevity to the finish. Felt very special to drink an aged Sauternes and this did not disappoint.

Paired with Roquefort and French charcuterie.

  • Perfect balance between fruit and age. Fresh, zippy, intense. Orange blossom, young for its age.
