  • Did not care too much for this wine, which was served at Helene D'Arroze in Paris. While there was a lot of dark, tart, fruit, and the tight grip on the tongue that Tannat-based wines often have, this was a simple and slightly boring wine. Although Tannat fans will tell you that a traditionally made Tannat wine should be rested for at least ten years, I believe this to be a more modern concoction with as much Cab Sauvignon as Tannat. [edit: maybe I drank this too early?]

  • I believe this is 50% Tannat and the rest made up of the Cabernets. Excellent as always. More red-fruited than previous vintages, tart cranberry etc., with excellent tension and energy to go with its very meaty, iron-blood, savory funkiness. It's as if Ocean Spray produced a beef broth.

  • Very meaty, notes of drip coffee, black fruit; slightly vegetal when initially opened, but this integrated as the wine opened up. Excellent wine for the low price. Would advise holding for a coupe years before drinking to give it time together. Not really a candidate for long term ageing.
