Tasted blind and guessed correctly that this was a 1999, as it showed the vintage’s fruit profile and tannins. Still young though the tannins are less forbidding and are buffered by the abundant and delicious fruit to the extent that this is quite enjoyable, especially with food. Thank you, Bill.

Cloudy unfiltered looking robe. Some moderate browning on the edges. Nose of spice, dusty blackberry and blueberry, quite fresh. Still quite structured with some tannin into the finish.

Relatively muted on the nose, sour cherries, plums, earth, fresh minty minerality. With air, great depth. Clearly superior to the Cazetiers alongside. Lovely poise on the palate: rich yet elegant. A touch acidic on the finish. But gorgeous.

Fabulous wine. Tasted blind, and I was surprised to see a 1999 show this well, and even more surprised that this was the Rousseau CdR. Approachable, but still a little tight.

Earthy spices on the nose that later shows the most pure red fruit. Really deep and structured wine that's drinking fantastic right now. Some oak sticks out on the midpalate, but besides that, this was a perfectly elegant showing.
