  • 12,5% alcohol.

Lots of deposit in the bottle. Even after careful decanting the wine is pretty hazy with developed reddish mahogany color. The nose feels quite dry, developed and meaty with distinctive aromas of licorice, some raisiny tones, a little bit of arctic bramble, light floral notes of marsh Labrador tea and a lifted, balsamic touch of VA. The wine is medium-bodied, dry and slightyl tough on the palate with quite attractive flavors of crunchy dark berries, some tart lingonberry tones, light savory notes of game and beef jerky, light brambly red-fruited tones, a hint of raisiny fruit and a touch of prune. The wine is balanced in acidity with very light and gently grippy tannins. The long finish is somewhat grippy with developed flavors of sweet, pruney fruit, some peppery spice, a little bit of meaty umami, light raisiny tones and an aged hint of soy sauce.

A very developed but still relatively alive and very drinkable Morgon that has lost most of its typical Beaujolais characteristics with age. Quite tertiary at this point, but still showing enough fruit and aged complexity to feel very balanced and enjoyable. Fun stuff, but needs to be drunk very soon; won't hold for much longer. Great value at 15,50€.

  • NICE FRUIT IN THE NOSE WITH A TOUCH OF EARTHINESS. CHERRIES AND PLUMS IN THE FLAVOR, WITH A TOUCH OF EFFERVESCENCE. MEDIUM LENGTH FINISH.
