  At a restaurant. Opened several hours before dinner, but no decanting.
  It was kept in the cellar after opening, so it came to the table on the cool side, which I usually find positive. But at the beginning I got the impression that the fresh temperature was not helping the wine, and made it feel somewhat disjointed. The nose was immediately beguiling, however. Slowly, and as the temperature increased, it all came together and reached a level of beautiful integration of all its components. It was perfect with the brasato. Overall it was like an aging, but still lean and energetic athlete, almost austere, but wise and mature. Its nose, especially in the fresh air was singing and still showed lovely fruit.
  I would love to retaste it in a few years, but chances that this will happen are rather small.
