Superb Bordeaux with a beautiful colour and an amazing nose of green peppers. The palate is silky and full of berries and some graphite notes. Stunning wine with another 10+ years in the tank

Dark red. Old school, green bell pepper and sweet cassis. Everything you want from an aged bordeaux is there, school desks, cedar, tobacco, leather and lead, all underpinned by seductive dark cassis. A smokey note emerges with time, it becomes a bit meaty. It's incredible to think this is approaching 30 years old, it's so effortlessly smooth and expressive, rolling along like the class act it is. Sensational wine in all respects.

France vs ROW (Home): In a really good spot: green pepper jumps out of the glass at first pour, joined by ripe dark berries, pencil shavings, a gamey note- although the fruit really leads the way. It impeccably walks the fine line between saturated richness and cool restraint. No hurry with this one.

The aroma presents subtly with hints of tobacco, pencil shavings, and faint gamey nuances.
On the palate, the wine displays a compelling juxtaposition of power and grace. Soft, well-integrated tannins offer a mouthwatering sensation, accompanied by flavors of plum, dried cherries, cedar, and leather.
With an undeniable vitality, this wine shows no signs of slowing its evolution for several years. While it may not steal the spotlight as a showstopper, it certainly earns its place as an above-average aged claret.
Decanting for 60 minutes reveals its true character.

Lunch at Noizé: Dense, full garnet to cloudy mid ruby. Blackcurrant with some mocha. A touch of smoke and beef fat. Fine grained tannins and good acidity. Still quite young. It’s all there. ****
