  Been working through my “time to drink” wines. I was pleasantly surprised by this wine. Still showing some fruit. This wine has held its own. I would drink within the next year, as further age will not benefit the wine.

  No decant; 17c; dark, slightly coppered purple; nose of barn, leather, sage, pepper; soft attack, full fruit, bright tannins, long finish; stewed plums, cherries, licorice; still holding up. 18 (Next day it was drinking well, chewy dried cherries and plums, with a tight, long finish. Lovely).

  A bit from memory, but this bottle impressed me.
  Decanted for about an hour, which I think helped.
  
  Smooth and well-balanced. Best of the lot for me (and my last).

  Typical nose of cherry and earth with a touch of mint. Medium weight. Good firm tannic structure on the earthy finish.

  Gorgeous wine from the moment you decant it. Ready all the way with that ripe cherry and forest floor, sweet spices but all combined in a sheer drinkability, fantastic for drinking now.
  Purchased from the winery on my visit 4y ago for €40. I know the Gran Selezione kick started later, so this label must represent the same wine with no GS mark on it.
