Almost clear. Grass and lemon on the nose. Slightly spritzy and light. Palate with grass, tartness and bitterness of crabapple, minerals and a hint of melon.

This was part of an accidental Loire themed dinner and was served alongside a 2007 Pepiere Granite de Clisson. All of us were sure the more highly regarded wine would blow it away. But this wine held its own because of the clarity and purity of its classic Muscadet flava – citrus, white fruit, acidic cut, sparkling minerality and that fresh bay breeze blowing across seashells thing.

Damn, I love Muscadet! So much so that I usually can't make myself drink one from my cellar. (My idea of heaven is just like Larry Bird's - a garage full of beer and every time you take a half rack out to drink a new half rack appears in it's place - except for me it's my cellar and bottles of Muscadet) This one was very good with aromas of lime, wax and wet stones followed by citrus zest flavors with some hints of white fruit and just a bit of creaminess.

Nose is a melange of lemon, pear and pineapple with some slatey notes and a dusty soil quality. Some ripeness showing along with a bitterness that emerges in the midpalate. Clean tart acidic finish with some minerals. Not as even across the palate as you might hope for. Solid for the money but you can do better from Muscadet.

Drinking beautifully. Minerals, citrus zest, great cut, lingers, no heat. Love it.
