PnP'd. Revealed so little at first, but after 20 min and then over 2+ hours of drinking opened up really nicely. Drank 2007 & 2006 at same time, liked 2006 a touch more. Both great wines. Drink one now with a decant or hold.
Dark purple with a deep, almost pitch black core. Aromas of cedar, dark berries intermixed with vanilla. The palate had notes of berries, chocolate, tobacco and vanilla with smooth and velvety tannins. Much better than the Clio bottling. Clio is all power and El Nido is all about elegance. I can see real upside potential here, will give my last bottle another 5 years in the cellar to see where this will go.
I'm hoping this is going through an awkward stage, because after a four hour decant I was only starting to get a little more than heat from this. Where will this brute of a wine go at 15.5%? Not sure I am patient enough to find out....
