Looks deep ruby red with faded rose edges, opens further with aeration, notes of wet leaves, dried strawberry and plum on the nose, bracing acidity, dry, the fruit has faded, the nuances are splendid, hints at black tea, dried cherry, mushroom and mineral, features an extraction of the earth itself, drinking really well, going to pair with red wine braised short ribs

45 min in the glass to open up. Nice balance and purity of fruit up front. No secondary notes detected. A pleasure to drink today but better in 3-5 years. Will easily drink well for 10-15 years.

13% alcohol. Good long dense cork with no more than a cm of wine penetration. Poured two glasses 15 mn ahead. Ruby colour, very pure and with little sign of ageing. The nose is rich and intense with the onset of tertiary aromas (including leather) and the remnant of fresh mixed berries. The mouth is satisfying and harmonious with good grip and superb acidity in the finish; some distant signs of oak but nothing insistent. Very very good, and so much better than two years ago; unrecognisable in fact. Also much above the Vosne-R Chaumes of the same producer and vintage that I had recently. I could see this wine ageing gracefully for another ten years, but it is in a very good spot right now.

Took about an hour to come together. Nice acidity with peek a boo fruit note. Very nice with food.

Burgundy "Masterclass" - Day 1 (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia): [From Coravin] Herbaceous (tomato leaf), muted red fruit (glacé cherry, pomegranate), and a very prominent line of cork taint. Faulty.
