Color clearing showing maturity with brownish crimson tint. Lively, peppery nose. A vital, lovely wine. Cola, black cherry, blackberry. Extremely well balanced. Drinking perfectly. R- "This is the best pinot I've had in years".

A mildly reductive, savory, and earthy nose with undergrowth, beef broth, dark cherry and forest berry fruit, and ferrous notes. It's midwieghted with lovely palate presence. This has sap with focus and tension on the palate, with iron, beef bouillon, decaying leaves and earthy notes more than dark pinot fruit. Finishes with more meaty notes and subtle spice. Quite long on the back end. A savory, outstanding pinot drinking well with time in hand. 91

Still pretty bad, though not pour-out bad. Dill/green dominate. Yuck. 750 this time.

Solid wine. Food friendly, balanced wine. Good secondary flavors of earth and smoke. Nice old world style from a cooler vintage.

Oregon: Young vs. old vine tasting & the consumption of Hank, a Scottish Highland steer (Paul's house): Unfortunately this one was corked. Quickly replaced with the 2007 Arterberry Maresh Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard, which was originally going to be given to the person who guessed the most number of old/young vines correctly.
