Decanted from Salmanazar (9L or a case of wine). Really deep blue red ruby still, with a bit of bricking at the rim but surprisingly youthful visage overall. Rich bottle bouquet of wet earth, blackcap raspberry preserve, black tea, dried orange rind, soft wood, and more earthy savoriness. Nice composition on the palate with fading flavors, moderate acid, softened tannins, balanced alcohol and a rich finish. Flavors are secondary and developed with wet earth, truffle, oolong tea, dried orange rind and red berry with sandalwood smokiness and hints of baking spice. Nice wine, very smooth and youthful for the age...could definitely age for a few more years because of the large format. I'd be interested to taste a 750ml bottle to compare but I would guess most would be ready to drink now.

Decanted 1.5 hours. Well balanced and crafted wine. Bright red with pink rim, nose of cherries and rhubarb following through to the palate. Very silky mouth feel.

This was an excellent wine, especially in terms of structure and the smooth finish and nice mouth feel. It was not fruit driven, red rasberry with a tartness of pie cherries. I would have enjoyed a bit more ripeness in the fruit, but the balance and structure of this wine were its strong points.

This was a very delicious offering from the WillaKenzie estate. I had read some differing reviews about this wine but I thought is was excellent. It was smooth from start to finish with soft tannins and lovely fruit throughout.

good red fruit on the nose, a bit silky with some spice on the finish.
