  • From a magnum. Screw cap. Some crystallised sediment but still amazing deep colour. Double decanted and left for 2 hours. Very typical Cab Sav character of tomato bush. Fruit still masked by oak, expect this to get better with time. Great length but not as delicate and complex as the 2004 Cullen Diana Madeline it was tasted alongside. This surely has 10-20 years left. Note to self: don’t open another magnum for at least 5 years, drink the regular bottles first.

  • Peppery on the nose, subdued smells of dark chocolate. Very dark burgandy colour, very opaque. Subtle smooth and very well blended flavours, hard to pin down exact fruit flavours. Strong initial acidity that rounds off very slowly with an amazing smooth lingering finish with subtle tanins on the top palate. Absolutely fantastic wine with dinner, very popular; would continue to cellar well for many years.
