slightly amber coloring, rich and viscous, slight petrol, good acidity and clean finish, nose and palate of figgy and fruit compote, smooth and long, lingering finish.

Some very geeky wines (Jeff Kings): We finished off with a bottle of this (my second this week). This was pretty consistent with the first. Golden in color. The nose has nice peach preserves. Maybe some burnt honeyed notes. On the palate, this is slightly sweet but no more. Decent acidity. Holds up well. While not bright, it still has a certain freshness about it. Picked up a few at auction for $15, and that was a steal.

LP, Rhys, Chapoutier, Caymus, Quintessa, Lewis & Kracher (E. 4th street): This has developed nicely. At the "bottom rung" of Kracher dessert wines I suppose, it is hitting its stride. No hurry, but probably at peak. Golden in color. The nose has peach marmalade. Maybe some honey and just a hint of burnt sugar. Very nice. Slightly sweet on the palate. Good acidity. Worked great with our desserts. While not cloying, a little goes a long way. Long finish. A tasty end to a great meal.

Light honey color. Sweet sugar nose. Clean and sweet, with only a slight bitterness. Given this is on the lower end of the Kracher portfolio, I'm pretty impressed. Not great, but not too bad for a Valentine's Weekday Desert Wine. I thought this would be corked because it had a very loose and slippery cork, but it was fine. The power of sugar and alcohol. Go Utah Jazz!!
