Very excited to try this bottle. Oldest red wine I've had and it was not a disappointment. The fill was a little below top shoulder, cork was black but the wine was in great shape for the age. On the palate it still had that sweet red berry fruit and just enough acid for the wine to drink well. The nose had a fragrance of tobacco and a touch of black truffle with a hint of red fruit still. Would never have guessed 1906 other than the color as the palate hadn't picked up that soy sauce or caramel note I would have expected.. there's a faint hint of it but nothing to detract from this otherwise enjoyable wine.
