  • ANDTHEODOR described this gorgeous wine perfectly. Delicious now, won't get any better but doesn't seem to be about to fall off a cliff.
Based on my experience, I would recommend opening the wine at least 30 minutes before serving.

  • Hard to add to my previous notes; this has effortless lightness while also being packed full of interest. Spicy, clean, barrel-oxidized while paradoxically fresh, a brilliant match to paella valenciana full of summer vegetables. A wine that has been at peak for many years and may remain there for many more. A treasure.

  • Next gift bottle from the peninsula,
a cloudy and rainy day here today, great for a nerd like me to be able to compare two mature bottles from the same period (o.k., 81 is unlike 82) and producer nearly 40 years after,
nose is full of secondary and tertiary aromas, forest floor, some dried tobacco leafs, smell of cortado,
on the palate fresh again, no super fresh, lively pronounced acid initially, light as a feather, but full of deepness, a fresh red fruit core, the pure finesse, long finish, great showing again, but I do have to admit, liked the Vina Albina from the same producer a little better some days ago, nevertheless great stuff here again, will live another decade+ easily!

  • Really beautiful nose of decayed leaves, cherries, potpourri, rusted iron. Round, silken, with a lovely sweet acidity that carries the red cherry and dried flowers. Diffuse on the finish but really synergized with roasted squash with sausage, sage and apples.

  • From a bottle with old seepage and fill at the neck label. Some oxidation presents as brown sugar maple sweetness on the nose. Palate is still sweet and spicy but lacks depth and finishes dull & flat. Some cherry and oranges but mostly past it. We finished the bottle with dinner but, still, disappointing.
