Popped and poured. This probably could have used a decant as it felt big and burly upon opening. Nice nose of black fruit, underbrush and herbs. The palate is full bodied, concentrated with layers of black fruits mixed with flavors of roasted meats and spice culminating in a long satisfying finish. This can clearly continue to age for another five to ten years
Three days in the fridge and this is even better. I have upped my score one point. A small bit of the nose has gone down but the palate now is just gorgeous. Red fruit driven, with still nice herbaceous and meaty notes, above all this shows great balance with strong concentration and acidity. After this tasting I am optimistic about this wine improving over time with age.

Pop and pour, consumed over 4 hours. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, strawberry, blueberry, rhubarb, beets, and black pepper. Palate: Medium-full bodied, sweet red fruit attack, great balance, spice driven mid-palate lift, back-end is dominated by rusty earth and spice. Finish: Medium-plus length (45-60 seconds), dominated by tart red fruit, spice, and rusty earth. Labeled simply as a "Red Wine" it is dominated by zinfandel characteristics, quite youthful for an 11 year old wine - near it's peak at the moment - wonderful wine.

Popped and poured and doesn’t feel like it needs much of a decant. The nose is an overt blackberries, flowers and tobacco. The palate is delicious black currant fruit, brambles, smoked meat, cream and spice. The tannins and oak have become well integrated into the wine.

Popped, poured and drank over 2 hours. Took a good 1/2 hour before the nose really opened up to a big beautiful sweet spice box. Well balanced palate with sweet, spicy red fruit and cinnamon/clove notes. Nice length on the palate. This wine has the finess of a Northern Rhone with the fruit of a Central Coast California Syrah. at the 2hr mark the wine was fading. I would suggest not decanting this wine.

Our first taste. And, just simply exceptional. Ready to drink. Seemed young just out of the bottle, but, really ready to go after open a few hours.
