  • At first, this was a bit thin and earthy upon opening. After about two hours of air time the nose opened up to show slight earthy, barnyard notes, mushroom and tart red fruit with hints of herbs. Light and tart red fruit on the palate with earthy undertones and little sign of oak. Medium+ acid, medium tannins and body. Still a bit leaner than I would like but drank well with food including two fish courses. If I had paid the $30 or so retail price for this wine, I would be perfectly content. Not so much at the restaurant price paid........

  • Just lovely classic Gevrey. Game, earth, spices, all the goods. A bit disjointed now with high-ish acidity, but this lighter village wine seems like it just wants a couple of years to soften up.
