There's lots of sweet fruit on the nose, and what feels initially like a touch of TCA, but which, with some swirling, seems to turn into just a bit of volatile lift. The palate is fairly wide, but with a narrow, well-defined core of sweet black fruit. It feels a bit subdued overall. Old school Rioja.

I had this together with Muga Reserva 2004, Remelluri Reserva 2003, Solar de Samaniego 2001 and Vina Real 1996
This one was the biggest smasher. It was very strong (100 % Tempranillo), dark in colour and a rather modern, slightly sweet style which gave me a very warm feeling in the mouth. There is not much left of the gentle and light style of an Rioja wine. It could be a Ribera or Toro wine as well. I guess it is still too young to drink. Without problems you can leave it for some years in the cellar.

Some nice leathery dark fruit on the nose. Resolved palate with a bit of tannic grip left. Moderate finish showing the fruit again. Very enjoyable for $9.

A pleasant Tempranillo. Moderate body, soft tanins, low acid. Not as much depth as we might have expected for a 16Euro reserva. Agree with "cgoumas" that it's time to drink and not likely to improve.

Nice wine. Tulio brought it over. We had it with cheese. Deft balance of fruit and acid with soft tannins. Driniking now. Do not hold too much longer....1 or 2 years max. A well made expression of Tempranillo.
