Rather muted nose of Riesling typicity. High and refreshing but not sharp acidity. Doesn't give itself away as the great complex riesling I had expected. Still very good and perhaps in a bad phase. This has definitely fruit and acidity to last for a long time.
Beautiful wine! After 2h in the decanter, it seemed still young and fresh, but also very elegant, very burgundy. Slightly reduced nose with yellow stonefruits, pear, sandal-wood, tobacco, dried-fruits and dried herbs and some saline minerality. Very complex and subtle, without noticeable botrytis or petrol notes. On the palate full-bodied with creamy texture, but pretty dry and far away from feeling fat. Nice transformation when its precise acidity and minerality kicks in, leading into a long intense finish.
