  • Very smooth but nothing spectacular. Past prime but an enjoyable drink nonetheless.

  • Double decanted an hour before drinking, doesn't look to have aged with firm deep colour at the rim. All leather and tobacco on the nose which carries through to the mouth. Still firm tannins at 15 years, this gives every sign of having plenty of legs yet. Drank over 4 hours during and after coq au vin and it didn't change much at all. Enjoyable but I had hoped it might soften and be more approachable after a few hours. The only bottle I had and I doubt I will ever see another 97, shame as another 5 years would a good review point.

  • Was looking forward to this, but it never really got going. Very Bordeaux like in structure, but for a Chilean wine, its lacking in fruit. There is a bit of texture in the mouth, some peper and earth, but its rather dull and fades away quickly. Never improved in the glass and although it is perfectly drinkable, you expect a lot more given its price.

  • Drink them now if you still have some. Drank with the 99 and I actually believe the 97 held up better but both are past their prime.
