It’s old world claret for sure. Earthiness, rich, needs food. We paired it with a rib eye and mushroom risotto. It was a nice match. A little black fruit left but not much. Well balanced.

Tasted blind. Nailed as a St. Emilion. It’s rather elegant but not overly complex. On the other hand it can still add complexity with aging.

I didn’t like the prior bottle and this one was corked. Maybe I got a bad batch. Will try one more before deeming this the biggest dud of the vintage.
