Decanted two hours but needs much more. Dark black color with Old World nose. First sip is a bit tight and tart. Mid palate is a bit of flavor layers but shorter finish. I think the wine needs more time but unsure it will be really full and amazing. The 2012 Ch Monbousquet we had last night was much better. It was a bit disappointing really. Some Nice fruit but not really full like a great StE.

Vin tout en équilibre. ouverture sur les mûres qui se développe sur le cèdre. Basilic et violette suivent. longue bouche. près à boire, mais pourrait se conserver (développer?) encore.

Decanted for an hour. Big right bank. Mouth-filling tannins, decent acidity a lot of dark fruit accented with vanilla/oak. All the fruit is still there. Superb finish. Opened up as we drank the bottle over the night

(Château La Gaffelière) Very dark red violet color; intriguing, tart black currant, pencil lead nose; plush, tasty, tart black currant, ripe berry palate with lowish acidity; medium-plus finish (80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc)

Grand Jury du Vin - Republic of Georgia; 11/1/2023-11/9/2023 (Republic of Georgia then stopover in Paris and Dijon): Wine 11 – Slightly overripe black fruit, baked fruit, silky, and cool.
Afterthought – Time has not been too kind. A bit leaner, yet it seems overripe.

Second bottle tasting. Aired for 3 hours or so. Dark fruit, with distinct charred wood. Liked it lesser than the last time around but solid.
