Popped and poured. Medium yellow. Gun powder and tropical fruit bouquet. Palate is a rich tapestry of grapefruit, blood orange and ripe nectarines with a slate acid backdrop. Does better slightly cooler but this was good from the start. Complex and interesting.
Complex nose of lime, pineapple, honey and riesling character. Power and weight on the palate with fruit, minerality and acidity in a good mix. The acidity is already a bit rounded and not at all as sharp as I had expected. Finishes with a bit of heat, and a slight touch of bitterness.
Lessrofs in F-bo: Greenish youthful nose with lime, green apple, basil, tropical fruits (mostly pineapple) and volcanic slate. In a slightly awkward phase right now, where the components - high acidity plus noteable weight, power and alcohol (warmth/bitterness) don't work together that well. Doesn't invite you to a second glass, instead says "wait" or "use with food only". Somewhat disappointing, but should come together again. Next bottle in three years or so.
