From purchased fruit. Usually 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. The Grenache is shining through here with sweet red fruit but there is an animal/earthy side to it is as well which comes from the Syrah and Mourvedre I take it. Good freshness and vibe. Drinking well right now, but by no means super exciting.

J.L. Chave Sélection Cotes du Rhone 2003 - earth, forest floor on the nose. Olives, pepper, Provence food works here. Long finish. Leathery tannins. Has some pedigree and layers of flavors. NOT for someone who wants a fruit-forward, international style. Paired well with a small snack consisting of good Spanish/Greek olives, roasted garlic, and ciabatta toasted with EV olive oil.

Good fruit, smooth and polished, tannins fully resolved, this has held up well. Last bottle, but ultimately very enjoyable.
