There was a marked alcohol bouquet. The wine had a bitter overtone that I do not remember being present when I had my first bottle of this wine in September 2010. I cannot tell if this is bottle to bottle to variation or a product of 2 years of additional age. OK, not great or interesting

Riesling tasting witth friends (@ WB): Ripe forest fruits and some cheese(?) on the nose. On the palate elegant red forest fruits, a little pepper, soft bitterness and a pleasant dose of toasted oak. The wine has refinement and also a pleasant bite. Nice now, but keeping it for another 2 - 3+ years will not be a problem.

The color was light red. There was a mild alcohol bouquet. There was a marked acid overtone, but it was nicely balanced by the fruit. This is a very light wine, it has some characteristics in common with mosel with respect to acid levels and a touch of sweetness even though the wine is noted to be trocken. Overall it was very pleasant

Great Spatburgunder character, but a bit hot and chocolatey for my tastes. Alcohol really hits you. Desperately crave a lighter version of this.
