6th of 12, note consistent with September's with sweetish tinge and size of these 03s perhaps more apparent again. If the sugars are eaten giving more complexity to the palate it should merit a higher rating than current fine (17.5/20).
5th of 12 - tightening nicely and losing sweetish edge, still slightly on burly side, but developing in the right direction and may soon merit higher rating. Only one premoxed bottle from this case, a vast improvement on the frankly disgraceful 2001/2s. Fine (17.5/20).
No notes taken (part of a camping trip) but one of the better wines of the weekend. About as rich as a Peter Michael Chardonnay, but so much more interesting on the back half. A very round wine, but it closes the circle. The glossy texture and the full nose are highlights.
vinyl, white flowers and kaffir lime nose. Some fresh mint like herbal notes too. ripe, somewhat clunky mouth that is awkward, but not poorly balanced. Some riper fruit, but not really a fruit bomb. Dry, medium weight acidity. This wine seems to lack precision, showing a chunky mid, but has good weight and length. This seems true to this most maligned of vintages. It's actually not a bad wine, just a bad schlossberg CSC. Maybe this will blossom in 10 years? now it's too blocky.
