6th of 12, note consistent with September's with sweetish tinge and size of these 03s perhaps more apparent again. If the sugars are eaten giving more complexity to the palate it should merit a higher rating than current fine (17.5/20).
5th of 12 - tightening nicely and losing sweetish edge, still slightly on burly side, but developing in the right direction and may soon merit higher rating. Only one premoxed bottle from this case, a vast improvement on the frankly disgraceful 2001/2s. Fine (17.5/20).
No notes taken (part of a camping trip) but one of the better wines of the weekend. About as rich as a Peter Michael Chardonnay, but so much more interesting on the back half. A very round wine, but it closes the circle. The glossy texture and the full nose are highlights.
About 2,5 years since my last taste and this seems to be improving. From what memories I have of that last bottle, it was an interesting Riesling but heavy. This time - just as in some German 2003s I have recently tried - the fruit finally seems to be receding a little bit which makes the low acidity poke through and which makes this into a much more balanced whole than I remembered. I am still not sure this will ever be seen as a great example of this wine, but at least at this moment it was good and provided pleasure.
