Drank after a 2002 laughing Magpie. Lighter by comparison, but shrugged off its age with time. Subtle, still retaining its fruit core, with savoury and aniseed notes. Much more complex than in its youth, but still has more time, shame it is my last bottle! Works well with marmite...the acid test for any fine wine!

This wine has aged superbly. Still quite fruity, with a full feeling in the mouth and lots of depth. Served it at a wine tasting and it was a definite favorite of the crowd.

Popped and poured. Marvellous nose of cherries and asphalt, with whiffs of menthol and ashes. A little hollow on the midpalate at first but it fleshed out later. Came into a lovely balance and a real tour de force by the folks at d'Arenberg. I'm beginning to think, the vaunted Dead Arm aside, that grenache may be where it's at as far as they're concerned. Beautiful.

This was fantastic. In a really good space with some secondary and tertiary characters but still some gentle blackberry fruit. Wonderful.
