Clear, dark ruby with watery rim. Clean, med + intensity, aromas of strawberries, cranberry, wicker basket, delicate truffles and nutmeg. Dry, med - body, med alcohol, med acidity, med - tannins, further tastes of black licorice, blackcurrants, med finish. I am always try to trumpet these underdog grapes, and this is a fine example of Grenache. Very nice, and surprisingly delicate.

Light clear red with a brownish tinge. Medium-bodied red cherry fruit with some sour edges and outrageous (almost sauvignon blanc-like acid) acid. The acid calms down a bit with some air time (or perhaps I get used to it). Not a lot of fruit here but a pleasant enough wine with home-made pizza. A bit short and sharp but for $15 it's not bad. I would have thought a 2008 would not have such agressive acid so I have no idea if this will 'come good'.

Good flavoursome grenache but not as smooth or refined as the Kalleske
