Marchesi di Barolo vertical from 2009-1951 (Merano Wine Festival): Sour cherry aspect, a bit lighter and tightly wound. Should have been decanted. I prefer the corpulence of the 2005, tasted just before, as it seems to have more substance, this with 14% alcohol.

Mild aromatics with vanilla toast, light cherry liquor and herbal notes.
Beautifully balanced Barolo with finely integrated tannins.
Complex palate w dark mild fruit, light tar, earth tones and cinnamon spice. Excellent pronounced finish.
RS: 93
