First from my cellar. The ripe vintage shows, along with the change of process in making this wine. Nose with allot of darker fruit, some new oak spices, notes of pepper and tobacco. Palate is dense and polished, lots of fruit, black and blueberries, dark cherries. Long finish. This needs more time to further mature and develop.

The perfect Syrah style for me - meaty, densely textured fruit where the perfumed aromas of meat bouillon, fresh berries and pipe tobacco carries you to places far away, and then on the palate, a remarkably fresh, berry driven, lithe and drinkable feeling to it. Wow. Highly recommended.

TGIF (Tokyo and Yokohama): Enjoyed at lunch mtg at La Rochelle, Aoyama (Tokyo).
This is pure, polished, mega intense and not really what we're looking for in Syrah.
Still very young and tight. May very well scream PICKABOO in some 10 years' time or so.
At this price point, we most certainly prefer our Syrah treats from La Chapelle for Europe and so many of the luxurious labels from Downunder.

Brighter and rounder than 07 Paleo, but not as complex. The two side by side are a fun comparison.

Tampa Spring Break (the second); 2/17/2017-2/19/2017 (Various spots (homes, Mis en Place, Capital Grille)): We've had this producer in the past, but first time with this specific wine. Lots of black fruits just falling over themselves, great tannin, hints of blueberry, a touch of alcohol but that blew off quickly. Enjoyable wine, but prob even better with a bit more time.
