Red
2010 Château Charmail France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
89 points
Red
2010 Château Moulin Haut-Laroque France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Fronsac
86 points
Very modern and pleasant, approachable now
Red
2010 Château Poujeaux France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Moulis en Médoc
88 points
A solid wine but by no means what you would expect from a Poujeaux... slight green and unripe cabarnet notes
Red
2010 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
89 points
Quite good, lots of oak, might be overoaked with a risk of drying out with bottle age
Red
2010 Château Pavie Macquin France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
93 points
Massive acidity, dense tannin structure, nice sweetness, this has a great potential
Red
2010 Château de Sales France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
89 points
Nice sweetness with a bit of chestnut purée in the nose but a tad disjointed in the palate
Red
2010 Château Rouget France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
92 points
Nice, dense, classic Pomerol nose. Reasonable value

Red
2010 Château Le Gay Pomerol France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
91 points
Very noble and balanced, this has the potential to be very long lived but will never be a massive wine but with the potential to be a great Bordeaux

Red
2010 Château Malartic-Lagravière France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
91 points
nice, round opulent and balanced
Red
2010 Château Pape Clément France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
96 points
silky texture, nice roasted oak in the nose. This is really, really a nice wine. Already now but with great future potential. What an amazing wine!
Red
2010 Château Paveil de Luze France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
87 points
Interesting play between acidity and sweetness, unfortunately the sweetness feels somehow artificial. Time might help
Red
2010 Château Ferrière France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
81 points
Well, well, well, I do usually like this wine, but we had a lively discussion and we all agreed that this was the wine and it wasn't a ault in the bottle (opened a second one just to be sure) and it was just disjointed with unripe cab notes and disjointed tanin structure.
Red
2010 Château Malescot St. Exupéry France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
90 points
The score is actually a 86-94. This can become fantastic, but it can also fall apart completely. So I give it a benefit of the doubt and give it a mid-way score. The point is that now it ha a huge acidity but also a niceand interesting sweetness with amaretto like notes.
Red
2010 Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
90 points
Elegant with a great longevity promise
Red
2010 Château Lynch-Bages France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
88 points
Not a charming wine, massive tannins, massive acidity. Feels disjointed. Maybe this is the stuff that great wines are made of 30 years down the road, but maybe also not.

I'm pessimistic
Red
2010 Château Pontet-Canet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
94 points
Extremely round, this is the roundest and most approachable Pontet Canet that I have ever tasted, which is weird, as I was expecting an even more closed down monster than the 2009 but no...
But then again the tanin structure promises a long long life ahead

2010 Château Phélan Ségur France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
91 points
Nice, very approachable and inviting, not so long lived I guess though. Phelan used to be a great value, but recent price increases make this wine a mid-range Bordeaux that performs according to its price
Red
2010 Château Ormes de Pez France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
85 points
Soft and round with sunday roast notes. Solid but not interesting
Red
2010 Château Saint-Pierre France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
93 points
This is a very very modern wine, round, oaky and fat. Really much more a Napa Cab then a Bordeaux, but is this so bad? Not for my taste, because I love wines like this.

2010 Château Léoville Barton France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
91 points
Always a safe bet, Leoville Barton performs also in this vintage. Elgeant and balanced this is truly bordeaux and it's fans will continue to buy this wine...

Flight 2 (4 notes)

Red
2010 Château Sansonnet France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
92 points
Lots of oak but with these tanin reserves this wine can handle this. Should be long-lived...
Red
2009 Château Sansonnet France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
90 points
This seems very evloved, risky that it does not last long...
Red
2008 Château Sansonnet France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
90 points
Green olives, round and velvety. This feels like a Washington Cab blend...
Red
2007 Château Sansonnet France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
84 points
Going already down the hill?

Really?

Can't believe this so try another bottle, and understand that these are perfectly stored ones. The second one was also a bit better but also clearly downhill, needs to be drunk...
