In the bouquet a firm dose of barnyard and earthy impressions. In the mouth still very primary juicy fruits, some metal and also earthiness and drying tannin. The wine is much too young and everything still has to integrate. Hope the brettiness will not dominate at a later stage. Waiting until 2016 might be wise. 88+ by then??? No "official" score.

Dark berry fruits, licorice, sweet spices and menthol in the bouquet as well as on the palate. Good balance between sweetness and acidity. The tannin is firm, but round and a bit drying. The type of acidity and tannin makes this wine a typical Italian Bdx-blend. Will improve with a few years of ageing; from 2014 onwards….?

Beautiful bouquet with dark forest fruits, luxurious oak and some menthol. On the palate juicy dark fruit which is still very primary. Beautifully round tannin, good acidity and a firm dose of sweetness. Still needs some more bottle ageing. Probably best between 2016 and 2022. 92+

According to the producer the 2009 is a more difficult vintage than 2008; less full bodied and more classical. Of course he is right. The fruits is very ok, as well as the luxurious oak, but the tannin is still quite harsh. There is some sweetness and spiciness as well. I guess the wine needs some more bottle ageing than the 2008 before it starts showing its merits; probably wise to wait until 2019. 91++

Flowers and sweet spices in the bouquet. On the palate some sweetness, good acidity and soft, a bit sticky tannin. An extremely friendly wine. Ready now imho and I would probably drink it over the next 5 - 7 years. The retailer however claims this will still be perfectly ok around 2026…but honestly; I don't see any reason now to wait that long.

The bouquet is completely locked..... in fact there is no bouquet at all…… On the palate a bit edgy and green, but on the other hand also ok with firm tannin and a touch of sweetness. Impossible to score this wine. Certainly not sure if it is great. If I had any, I would give it another try around 2015…

In the bouquet green herbs, ripe red as well as black fruits, some menthol and some metal..? On the palate a slightly sweet start and a full bodied wine of substance, firm and sticky tannin and good bitterness in the finish. Not really pleasurable at the moment, but this wine needs time. Probably until the start of the new decade, so around 2020. For now "only" 91 but with a potential of 2 - 3 more points.

Beautiful and complex bouquet with earth, beautiful oak and flowers like violets. A special wine made of the Pigato grape. The bouquet is reticent, there is a huge amount of green apple and really much bitterness in the finish. With a price above $40 it should be special, but with hardly any bouquet, one dimensional green apples and so much bitterness I don't appreciate this wine. Probably tells more about me than about the wine. Could it be that this wine needs some ageing? I can't tell. 81-86+?
