couldn't resist an early peek. beguiling tension between bright/citrus/apple and savory/mineral/saline notes. fennel frond is really present on the nose. the palate starts off with citrus and apple then transforms to savory/saline qualities. lovely wine - look forward to revisiting in a couple of years.

such a phenomenal wine. fresh and 'lifted' with blackberry, olive. incredibly aromatic. great acidity. hope the JL team can still get this fruit in the future....

decanted 3 hours. really striking wine that was lifted, light on its feet, and quite aromatic. reminiscent of Barolo in structure. only had 1 bottle but look forward to trying future vintages.

double decanted then slow-ox for 12 hours. initially very tight. raspberry, spice, great minerality. still reticent. wait another 5+ years to try again.

last bottle. what a gem of a wine. bright acid, cranberry/pomegranate, soft tannins. blows a premier cru 2009 burg I had recently out of the water.

a fantastic, approachable wine. opened up with ~20 minutes in the glass.

decanted 45 minutes: in a really nice place. cranberry and pomegranate with damp earth/cedar(?). savory notes on the back end. plenty of acid and fruit. seems to have many years ahead of it.

really enjoyed this. light bodied with resolved tannins. red fruit framed with tea, herbs, and lifted by a bit of menthol. nice acidic frame. has really matured nicely and is quite elegant.
Red
lovely bottle. red fruits supported by acid and nice dry extract reminiscent of burgundy. with some air, spice and floral notes became more apparent. had nice tension to balance out the fruit. still has plenty of life ahead but drinking nicely at the moment.

vibrant with notes of eucalyptus and crushed raspberry on the nose. the palate follows suit with red fruit, anise, and just enough acid and tannin to hold the fruit in check. really enjoyable.

? flawed bottle. lots of acetone/nail polish for the first hour or two. this blew off and the wine had a nice floral-inflected blackberry profile but lacked the grip and structure described by others.

aromatic, grippy, and energetic wine. the tannins really keep the aromatic citrus and red fruits from overwhelming the wine. this is fun and interesting wine that deserves food.

great aromatics but the alcohol and the tannins are obscuring much of what's underneath. will be curious to see if this improves with time.

the aromatics on this really sing with floral, red fruits. bright raspberry on the palate framed by quenching acid and savory herb and spice notes. this is incredibly fresh and lively with richness, depth, and a well-rounded character. stunning.

disgorged 2010. sadly, an oxidized bottle. brownish gold. initially, the nose was full of baked apples and apple cider. with time, it turned bitter. you could see the potential beneath the flaws, however. but not a great representation of the wine tonight.

crystalline, almost canary yellow. citrus, butterscotch and a hint of nuttiness on the nose with bright acidity and citrus/stonefruit on the palate. the finish lingers with a bit of grapefruit and herbs. really great wine with years ahead of it. sadly, my last bottle.
