Translucent ruby from edge to center. Floral and red fruit on the nose. Hint of mint also. Beautiful soft mouthfeel. Med - body. Soft tannins at this point but acidity kicks in to balance. Med+ Smooth finish. Only one bottle left - will drink in the near term as it’s so nice now.

Cloudy purple. Slight brett upon opening but an overnight decant helped blow that away. Herbal and cherry was then discernible. Soft tannins and still some acidity to back that up. Medium minus body. Medium minus finish. I have one bottle left and am hoping that isn’t bretty like this was.

Translucent ruby. Loverly scent of bergamot as in Earl Grey tea. Also some nice baking spices along with red 🍒. More acidic than tannic. I think it’s light+ in body which is odd, considering it’s 15% abv! The tartness gives it a long- finish. If I had more, I think of a shorter term for aging potential, but alas and alack, ‘‘twas my only bottle. Coravined into a Riedel WineWings Neb/PN glass.

Opaque purple with ruby purple on the oculus. Enchanting aromas of black cherry compote, plum jam, dusty boysenberry with tiny amounts of cedar and mint. Nice creamy full- body with 14.4 abv. 🍷 beautifully balanced with soft tannins and then acidity kicks in. Medium+ finish. I think this has some years left but I’m really gonna have trouble keeping my hands off my three remaining bottles. 🍷 was kept in perfect storage conditions and I Coravined into a Riedel Cabernet Sauvignon WineWing stem.

Very pretty almost electric raspberry colored meniscus that becomes opaque as it heads to the center. Lovely dark berry fruit with boysenberry also. Delightful baking spices with some high tone red cherry 🍒 notes. 46% Zin, 39% Petite Sirsh, & 18% Syrah. Full bodied at 15.2 abv. Soft tannins but the acidity kicks in to provide balance. As young as this is (just rec’d with Fall Shipment), this is almost able to just be a beautiful sipping wine, i.e., no food needed. Nice peppery long finish.

As so young, decanted. Inky black purple to the meniscus. Incredible nose of boysenberry, blueberry jam, with a touch of cinnamon. Quite tannic but that’s to be expected as this young stage. After my mouth unpuckerd, I could get the acidity. In a few years this will be one mighty fine vino but it’s just too young now. Def full bodied at 15.5 but tons of fruit help mitigate that. Long finish with sweet fruit, even a tad of prune/plum. 90 now with much more potential given time.

The above was my note prior to having with food. It paired beautifully with dry rubbed ribs as the right amount of animal fat truly subdued the tannins!

Holy sh*t!! What a beautiful wine! Ruby on the edge and opaque ruby purple after that. It’s tremendous in cassis, black currant and mocha flavors, and the 100% new French oak provides perfect additions of smoke and caramel. It’s perfectly balanced between the smooth velvety tannins and almost sweet acidity. Yes, it’s an iron fist in a velvet glove. Full bodied at 14.9 ABV. Wonderful long finish. I’ve got one more bottle that I’m going to find it hard to keep my paws off of. Honestly, it truly can just be sipped on it’s own. It does not need food. Just a slight amount of fine sediment that the Nuance finer caught. And it truly sang in the Riedel 🍷 Wings CS stem. Simply luscious!

Just the slightest bricking on the oculus. Clear garnet on the balance. It’s barely opaque in the center of the Riedel Wine Wings stem. Black cherry, roses, slight bit of tar and even a hint of anise. What a nose - just want to keep sniffing- never mind drinking. But upon sipping, the soft tannins are still present. Acidity eventually kicks in bringing balance. Medium body at 14%. Long gorgeous finish. This still has miles of potential. 16 years old and 16 left. Did I mention the nose???

Opaque ruby purple. Nose is redolent of cassis, plum, boysenberry, earthy blueberry 🫐, and with the 24% carmenere just a touch of green bell pepper 🫑. Touch of smoke and leather also. Soft drying tannins met with nicely juicy acidity. Beautifully balanced and drinking very well now but glad I have two more to see how it further develops. Medium plus body with 14.5 ABV. Medium plus finish.

#1 bottling. Gorgeous ruby red. Absolutely one of the most delicious noses I’ve ever had. Red raspberry, blackberry, black cherry, slight hint of citrus, jammy with some vanilla notes. Beautifully balanced and velvety. Full bodied at 15.5 ABV. Finish was the longest I’ve had for quite a while. Exquisite!

Deep clear ruby in color. What a nose! Strawberry compote, red raspberry coulis, black cherry liquor, delightful cinnamon accents in a vanilla sauce. Soft tannins in balance with some kumquat acidity. Full bodied with 15.1 abv. Long plush finish. Lordy, I love HS wines.

Opaque purple. Blueberry, blackberry, plum, cassis, and a bit of licorice on the nose. Beautifully balanced between the soft tannins and bright acidity. Full bodied. The fine sediment clogged the Nuance finer. Long finish. This still has miles to go, glad I have more to keep sampling.

Very deep opaque garnet. Raisin, boysenberry, black plum and definitely fig on the nose. Some earthiness also. Tart. Acidity triumphant over tannins and fruit. Medium - body. Medium finish. No heat but without much fruit seems thin. Drink up.

Black inky purple. Opaque. Nose redolent of blackberry and kirsch liquor, definitely fig and some baking spice, Fine sediment at the bottom of the Riedel WineWing syrah stem. Feeling some of the 16.5 ETOH. Fine tannins balanced by acidity but hot. Should last quite a while but worried about the ABV as that’s not going to go away. Long finish but hot.

Note above was from coravined glass out of 🍷 cooler. Three days later popped the other half remaining. Came to room temp and am much more impressed. Raising score to 94. Not feeling the heat quite as much.

Opaque purple. Plum, black raspberry and a high note of orange on the nose. Full bodied. Acidity is greater than tannis which made it pair better with food. My only bottle but if I had more, I’d drink them up soon. As an aside, this was the tightest cork I’ve ever pulled with the ah-so which I used fearing that cork might break due to age.

Golden yellow. Apricot, almond and lanolin on the nose. Tad bitter on the palate. Med plus body. Label says it’s 40% 90+ year old Saint Jeannet, 30% SB, and 30% 90+ year old Chard. ABV 13%. Was afraid this would be over the hill but no. ‘Tho I will drink the last bottle within a year.

Long finish without any bitterness. Used a Nuance finer but no real sediment to speak of for a 12 year old wine. Went well with grilled lamb chops. I think it'll go for 5 more years but I'm liking it now!

Opaque red purple. Poured through a Nuance wine finer. In a Riedel Grenache stem, this had an intriguing nose of cinnamon, licorice, boysenberry, blackberry and a hint of smokiness. Tannins present and soft and are in balance with the acidity. Velvety mouthfeel. Full bodied and at 15.6 abv, I feel NO heat. A long finish that left a smile on my lips. Drinking beautifully now but has the potential for a few more years. Yowser!

The meniscus has only the slightest hint of bricking. Nose of dark fruit especially cherry and plum. Full bodied. The tannins are so soft as to be unbelievable but are still present. They do balance nicely with the acidity in the wine. This is truly drinking beautifully right now.The finish is smooth and of medium length. I plan on drinking my remaining bottles over the next year. I've been drinking these for seven years now and they just are delicious.

Deep purple. Wonderful nose that kept evolving... cherry, vanilla, a bit herbal. There was so much fruit to balance the 16% abv. Full bodied and spicy not hot in the mouth. Nice peppery(again spicy not alcohol heat) on the long finish. Can't wait to see how this will keep developing. DELISH!
