Great food wine

Very rich wine, dark red fruit, cassis, hints of chocolate. Enjoyed with a NY Strip and then afterwards.

Notes of blueberry and candied cherry, nice tannins. This is my first introduction to this grape. It seems to do well in the Georgia soil and climate.

In 2010 the winery decided to try something totally new by blending and co-fermenting Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. The aim was to create wine showing big color density and in-your-face tannins, yet executed with classic Montelena styling of restraint and elegance. They definitely achieve that. The color is dark ruby red with good color to the rim. Nice dark fruit on the nose with a rich, full mouth feel.

Not the Caymus profile I know and love, way to fruit forward like your average mass produced grocery store cabs. I have a few more bottles so I will see if they develop but my instincts tell me to consume these now and be done with them. Not sure how Parker gave this a 96.

Nice full bodied Shiraz with lots of fruit, especially blueberry and plum. Had this with a Jerk Pork Tenderloin and the pairing was excellent. I am going to grab more of this for the cellar as it drinks well without food too.

The nose has a sweet floral essence intermingled with smoke and spice that is the highlight over the palate. The wine can use some more time in bottle or a decant before drinking. Very nice wine that would be a great pair with food.

The wine looks Violet colored. It smells like Strawberry, and Rose. It tastes like and Strawberry. The body is Light. The wine has Smooth texture. The wine finishes Short.
