Masculine yet elegant, this was showing very well .. Early morning flight at the tasting room, and this was easily my favorite.. I see why Tanzer gave this 94 points, and this seem likely to improve.. is this the best price out there for a 2012 Shea? Possibly...

not a muscat fan, but this was more palatable than I expected - not too sweet, with decent acidity to balance the sugar.. nose of candied orange perfume

with such a unique blend of varietals I was expecting more.. showed more white rhone character than chard, with a reticent nose, and bit hot on the finish... at 25$ there are better wines for my money..

dry, stone fruits, a little restrained on the nose, but opened up nicely with time, definitely getting the pepper on the finish, bright acidity - would hold 1-2 more years..

very enjoyable juicy pinot. drinking beautifully right now.. followed a 2011 domaine latour-giraud puligny-montachet champs canet 1er cru, and this definitely pleased the crowd...1st bottle I opened of this was badly flawed, but this certainly didn't disappoint.

Tasting this alongside the 2004 martha's made it difficult to fully appreciate this old world style cab - earth, pine, dark fruit, tobacco, black pepper, creme de cassis, ripe tannins, medium plus structure. this was very nice - give this at least 4 more years. 91+

91-92+ still a lot of evolution potential left for this- hold another 7 years - the 09 and 10 were definitely more open in this showing..still a beautiful wine.

No notes taken. this aired out in my glass for 45 minutes prior to tasting. enoyed in a 3 year vertical at the winery (08, 09, 10). very approachable considering its youth, this was the darkest of the 3 wine- harmonious balance, soft tannins, bright ruby red fruit, spices, dusty ripe tannins, french oak- great representation of rutherford. 93+? hold 7-10years.

92+? surprisingly open. big wine, dark extracted ripe fruit, Blueish-blackberries, vanilla, mocha, cassis, medium acidity, soft integrated ripe tannins, tasted at the property - very well made wine. overall a very enjoyable juice, but still lacking a little bit of the wow factor that i had hoped for considering the critical acclaim this garnered. hold 5-7 years.

St. Helena tasting room. first Martha's did not disappoint.. bottle was gassed and left over from the day prior - this was wonderfully integrated with soft resolved tannins - subtle spearmint, ripe blackberries, eucalyptus. this showing lovely right now, built to last, this can certainly still reward some patience. 93+

Tasted alongside 2006 crystal - the precision and impressive balance of this champagne had me going back for more.. really neat to compare the vastly different styles of the two bubblys next to each other.. typically i prefer the richer style shown displayed in the crystal - but this lean, laser like, blanc de blanc was the bell of the ball in the this setting... if you can still get a good future price on this, i would say to go for it.. 93+

Didn't get to give this the attention it deserves.. tasted at a couple different points during the evening at Bottlenotes' Around the world in 80 sips.. to say this was rather tannic and somewhat sinful to open at this point is clearly stating the obvious... But i really expected more from this.. developed more of a nose, and softened out over the night...Hold this for another 7-10 years at the very least... i would currently rate this around a 90..

93+ - tasted at the winery - bottle had been open for roughly 2 hours - impossibly integrated for being so young.. tasted against the mays canyon chard and following pinots - the platt, the cerise, the roman, and the savoy. Old lady and I unanimously agreed that the mays canyon stood above the rest of the group in this showing.. The mays canyon chard impressed as well.

Solid 93. Sampled from a series of 6 wines at the winery including the Mays Canyon Pinot, the savoy, the roman, the cerise pinot, and the the mays canyon chard. From this fantastic lineup, the platt comes in closely just behind the mays canyon (my personal favorite of the group) in this showing... 93+?

nice vino, dark fruit and oaky up front, with a dry short/medium finish - a bit boozy, but opens up nicely with time in the glass revealing notes of chocolate .. given 2-3 more years this could easily add a couple points..
