Sadly, a forgettable wine. Somewhat thin in the glass, but a decent cab/blend nose. The flavors were muted, with a short, tannic, and somewhat metallic finish. Tasted over two days, with similar notes.

Very nice red fruited nose with some bramble, flavors the same with red and black cherry being more prominent, get some vanilla, some cherry liqueur as well, low acid, mild tannins, drinking nicely now, medium length finish, reach for this if you’re craving the Napa cab experience, very nice

Dark garnet red extending to the rim. Aromas of dark cherry, ripe strawberry and ink with a hint of sweet breads. Flavors follow aromas with dark cherry, red fruits and leather. This wine still has abundant, refined tannins providing a full mouth feel. Very enjoyable now, but can still age several years.

I thought this was an exceptional Chardonnay. It started off a bit tight, but quickly unfolded to present nice oak accents against lovely and pure fruit. Stone fruit and some apple notes predominate. Just perfect ripeness and definitely left me wanting for the next taste. Good level of acidity that carried throughout.

Is this the best Californian Chardonnay we have ever tasted? Probably. We are not that experienced with CC, but this was drinking wonderfully and went very well with Chicken in cream and mushroom sauce. I was a bit concerned with the 15% Alcohol but the balance was great with oak definitely there but not out of line. Fruits were not clearly obvious, there was an element of citrus, muted pineapple, but also a sense of caramelised apple. Whatever it was, it was delicious. As we near to Christmas, this could be a great partner to Turkey and all the trimmings. I reckon it does not have to be this Christmas.

Still has a deep purple color. Intense blackberry, red raspberry, black plum. Cedar, thyme, oregano. Wet earth. Slight hint of oak. On the palate, rich black and red fruit, blackberry, cherry. Still strong tannins upfront but fades somewhat quickly. Some blueberry. Incredibly balanced. I may have caught this at the perfect time.

This wine made a great impression from the first sip to the last sip and was a great crowd pleaser. My wife who wants me to cut back on buying wine said to me " YOU SHOULD BUY THIS ONE." This wine had great fruit aromatics of apples and pears and the wine was extremely balanced with the fruit, acidity and sugar being seamless. The body is much lighter than the dry riesling. This wine held up to a couple of German Kabinetts that we tasted and drank at the same time.

Decanted 2 hrs. Deep in the glass, with powerful aromas of blackberry and plum, as well as a touch of mocha, good freshness. The palate is concentrated, with ripe dark fruits and fine tannins. Mouthfilling and seamless, with a very long finish. This was a full bodied wine, in a great stage of maturity, drinking well now and for some time. I found some potential similarities with a well made Amarone, but I may be wrong!

Sensational. In both the literal and traditiional senses. And this is all about senses. Cerebral switch flicker. Vin-neutropic. You can let it breathe for a week at room temp and it won't give an inch.

The aromas are beautifully saturated with oxidized notes. Honey butterscotch, beeswax and Kentucky bourbon. Tropical notes. Papaya apricot. Floral stuff. Violets, white jasmine. And the chemical residue of a new leather handbag.

It tastes hot, but its only 12.5%. Finish powerful and long to completely exhaust your neurons.

Seeing the CT consensus that the drinking window was closing on this wine and reading PMJak11's TN I dug out my last bottle from the cellar with bittersweet anticipation. I was not disappointed. What a delicious pour! All bramble and boysenberry, the long, strong and mouthwatering nose was present from when first decanted through about an hour of air time and the 2 hours to consume. Mouthwatering. The drinking did not disappoint, following the nose precisely. The same deep fruit with a little tar and a looong finish. Knowing it was my last bottle each sip was held in the mouth: relished and savored. Silky smooth with just the right amount of astringency, acidity and tannins on the finish to balance the fruit. What a treat. While I am sure there are better wines, I certainly wasn't thinking about that as we enjoyed this one. There were no signs this wine was on it's last legs: no bricking on the edge and no deterioration of the fruit. I don't know how much more life there is in this wine but the only reason I would suggest drinking now as opposed to holding this beauty with great anticipation is to enjoy it. This wine was a reminder of why I collect and hold wines.

Consistent with my previous note from a year ago. Opening up nicely on the mid-palate. Barnyard and funk giving way to more fruit, especially dark cherries. The purity of fruit really stands out. Silky smooth, impeccably balanced, and phenomenal concentration, while the finish last 45-60 seconds. This wine is a gem and paired perfectly with a meaty winter stew on a cold evening. Drink 2018-2028. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

Such a fun and interesting blend. Really enjoyed this bottle. Dark fruit notes with blackberry, scorched earth, black currant and spice on the nose. Well proportioned on the palate, and lush fruit-driven, spicy finish. Better on day 2, this could use time in the bottle or be consumed with a decent decant.

Decanted for two hours. Medium to deep ruby with colorful legs suggesting high extract. Openly expressive nose of black currant, integrated oak, and nuances of pine needles and baking spices. Intense, mouth-filling ripe fruit counterbalanced with an equal measure of acidity. Fine but grippy tannins. Very well made wine which hides its 14.9 ABV well. Long finish and the flavors are bold and immensely likable.

Baby Caymus Special Select. If you like this kind of thing...tannins completely resolved, so flabby and soft. Black cherry, black olive, just a hint of chocolate and mint on the palate and finish. Good balance; opulent and soft finish. Much better with food. Sure to crowd please, but fairly pedestrian. Glad I purchased on release, but not worth what they say it costs on wine-searcher.

Upon first opening, it seemed a little flat; maybe over the hill. But after 30 minutes or so, the acid started to show through more and provide better balance. After about 60 minutes, it was downright fantastic. Very complex. The Semillon is the star of the show at this stage, with honey and beeswax taking center stage. However each grape showed itself at different points of the night. Based on this bottle, the wine should still have a few years left, though it's certainly in a great spot now.

I was a little miffed to learn, after purchase last year, that the "uncovered" moniker doesn't mean no oak (which I thought and assumed it did...my fault). Misleading. Anyway, it's certainly a fine wine, but I didn't find it to be terribly distinct. It's round, it has good stone and citrus fruit, and a toasty finish. I don't know...I think the ratings places all had this a few points too high. It's good, but wholly forgettable amid a sea of average to good Chardonnay.

Dark purple color. On the nose classic hints of Bordeaux and black fruit. Reminiscent of a Pauillac but slightly less earthy. On the palate this is a big wine that still is pretty tight and tannic. Finish is long and makes me want to drink more. This will get better and I will save my other 5 bottles for a few years. If you only have one bottle save it. If you have 3 or more take an early sample and give it a 1 hour decant or more.

30+ minute decant. Very unique. Was like a trip around the world! Had the tannins of a Barolo, the plums of CDP, the oak and vanilla of a Tempranillo, the texture of Bordeaux, the structure and depth of an Aussie Shiraz, and the smell of a Napa Cab. Very complex or disjointed, however you want to interpret it. I’m the latter as it wasn’t my style, but love that it was different.
