This is the first vintage for Paulinshof in Trittenheimer Apotheke. The 83 point review below, has no reflection on this wine now. This is a 11% ABV Spaetlese, at this time the sweetness level has tapered off. All the fruit and slate notes remain. Beautiful bottle. Great producer, sadly not imported to teh US anymore. I brought this home in my suitcase.

Unfortunately I only had about 4ml because of a farcical situation, but it was very good. I think it is at its top, sadly I had only one.

I am sure 14 euro would yield a better bottle in France, but at $15 in the US this wine delivers S Rhone (lite) in a master class. It would be a good introduction to the uninitiated as it is so friendly. Not a Galet over the head.

A let down for $31. The Sémillon was not expressive. A middle of the road effort and I had to pay shipping for it.

Everything you'd want it to be, while sweetness was in the background. It was a gift from the Weingut to me. Priceless.

Maybe 10 years is too long ? I like the Owen Roe Ex Umbris better and it is made in large quantities. So it goes. I have 1 more.

This wine needed at LEAST 15 years. It had a dumb phase of about 14 years. Sadly the last one of 12, but so very good now. Spaetlese***, so good.

ok, so I thought maybe CT estimates that this wine should be drunk means I should drink it....well my last bottle (tonight) had YEARS left on it. I am however grateful that it was in a spot where it was. I poured it for people that said, 'I hate wine that is sweet' and they said WTF ?! While it is an early 'white cap', I thought it was a classic Spaetlese. Everyone (8 people) thought it was greatness. While there are some 88 point scores on this wine, I guess I was just lucky that it showed up to the performance aka 94 points. Encores all around. Yes it had that Zeltinger tanginess and classic mosel fruit and length, but to convert 3 people who don't like 'sweet' wine is something more noteworthy than a critic score. Someone who hates petrol notes said that it is was free from that, but I noticed some, but I love that. I think overall Molitor wines are 'over-scored' but he makes solid long lasting wines and in consideration of what red and white burgundies cost, Mosel/Molitor wines are a steal. At least in 2006 (botrytis year), anyway.

The CT drink by 2021 is a good measure, it certainly could still be good in 3 years, but I don't think it will be better.

Sadly, the cellartracker drink-by said 2021 so I drank my last one. This is at least a 20 year wine. Crisp acidity, undiminished fruit, silky tannins. I only drank a 1/3 so I am looking forward to see how it fares after a day.

Nicely round, decant unnecessary. Nice mix of new and old varietals. Cab is only 13% but makes an impression.

Still youthful. Poured after, without my knowledge, a 2000 Sauternes. I thought, well f*ck, i wanted to pour this before, but I wasn't in charge. So I started pouring it after, saying this one has more balance between sweetness and acidity than the last wine and those who I poured first came up to me and said, 'I don't care if you haven't poured this for everyone, I want more. Now.' so, yes, this is good wine, no where near its peak. The left side of the bell curve. Mario, you done good, son.

Anyone who scored under 90 doesn't appreciate Rheingau or drank too early. Anyone who gave it less than 90 points and still has some, contact me and I will buy the rest at 150% original retail. Let me do you a favor. The wine is crap and I can take it off your hands. I will send you a box to put it in and a prepaid airbill.

Mouthwatering, great balance of sweetness and acidity. With Feinherb being a bit loosely goosey, I'd say this represents a Feinherb 'Best Practice'. It is a Qualiteatswein, rather than a Praedikat, but who gives a f*ck ? I get the gold raspberries importer Theise gets, in Germany it is 9 euro and that is really something, it is about $20 here, but still worth it.

Gigantic Walla Walla Cab. Easy $100 bottle. First a bit alcoholic but then tamed into a glorious melange of dark fruit and perfectly balanced french oak. The bottle could be used as a weapon. The punt could be used to hide an adult cat. They don't make them like this anymore and some say that is a good thing, but I say thank you for the effort. I had bottle 667 (hand written), I am thinking #666 might have been a touch better, but I am not complaining.
