On its own this is young - tart, tannic and tight. With stuffed shells, a delicious counterpoint to the pasta and cheese. For me, this can use a few more years in the cellar. Taut black cherry, with acid and tannins, nice food wine this.

It's been over 5 years since the last note on this wine but most of what you read below still holds. Lots of acid, sour cherry and cranberry fruit and quite yummy. And still young. For me, Burgaud bojos are on the intense end of the spectrum. This is an almost ten year old Beaujolais Villages and I think it still needs more time. With luck, I hope to see what some of his Morgons are like at 20 years - have a ways to go to find out.

I'm now on bottle #2 of a case and if you want to know about this wine just read the comments below. Still a bit young for me but juicy, crunchy, fruity and a touch elegant? Yes, seems like it could match up with nearly any meal. Clicked on where to buy, cellartracker now has suggestions prior to sending you to wine searcher. It sent me to where I purchased this and it's still available for $15!! If you have the means and this can be your house wine, look into it. Note, I think we purchased a half case of the 2018 and was not quite as enthusiastic about that wine.

It is interesting to read through the notes on this wine. Ten years after the last note, this wine was a surprise and a delight. All the comments from 10-15 years ago how this was over the hill? Maybe so but happily not this bottle. No idea where this was obtained but in great shape. We have other Bordeaux from this vintage and in 2023, this is as good or better than a number of more highly regarded estates. This wine appears younger, fruity, yet classic Bordeaux structure. Well done and even nice on day 2. Hope to stumble on another bottle of this in the basement.

Here we are in 2023 and this wine is absolutely lovely. Rumors it its demise are unfounded. Certainly on the back nine but this is soft, rich, plummy and absolutely delicious. Even a bit of a port note there. A real treat. I don't normally rate wines but this deserves some respect and correction on the scoring.

My prior note was a bit measured. 5 years later this is still going strong. Great balance between structure, acid and fruit. Got this wine at discount but it's worth seeking out. And, no need to "drink up".

Pretty dried out by now but still nice with grilled sweet potatoes and steak tips. The label says to drink this within 5-7 years which is 2013 at the latest. Today in 2023, still hanging in there. Most of the recent notes here summarize pretty well. Decent showing and value at this point from not a great year. Drink up.

Really good tasting notes below, definitely captures the essence of this. I enjoy lighter reds but this could use just a little more intensity - you really need to hunt the flavor. What's there is quite nice, it's like a good song but the volume's too low.

Read the note by DBP just before pulling the cork and it got my hopes up. Had been expecting to pour this down the drain. While our bottle was not a 93, it was very interesting and absolutely lovely. Muted nose, but surprisingly rich with lip smacking acidity. This is what happens to good Chablis after 27 years? What a treat.

Nearing the end of a case of this and my bottles are not like what everyone else is describing. The fruit is always muted and there's a slight bitterness that you might associate with an Italian wine. It almost seems corked but so many bottles? Maybe this case was mistreated somewhere along the way.

This is one of the lowest rated vintages of this and there are comments that it's over the hill but do not despair, this is a nice bottle of wine. We have the better part of a case left and happy about that but no reason to hold this any longer either. Don't know what I would make of this blind - new world, sweetish fruit, clearly some age on it, nice balance - but keeps you coming back for more. A lovely showing over two days and should match with all sorts of food.

Happily bottle number two was nothing like my first. Really fresh and lovely and the other notes to date give a good sense of this wine. Very nice.

We had this yesterday, one year after Poisey's note which was nearly as excellent as the wine. The prior note mentioning Burgundy and Piedmont is also helpful. This wine is elegant, light, mature, flavor packed with soft cherry and chocolate and nice acid. Simply lovely. Stored 25+ years in a non temperature controlled basement.

My experience with this differs from Smoky86. Count me a fan of Burgaud's wines but the bottle I opened is just feral, tight and harsh. Even after 3 days it has barely softened. Maybe this is corked, I always have a hard time with that but I'm not opening another bottle (have a case) for a long while. This needs to settle down, a lot. Maybe I will open another bottle just to see if this was a one off since the other review was much more like what I was anticipating.

Dark fruits, especially blackberry. Fruity, briary, I would almost compare to a Zinfandel but in a good way. As to the 2014 reviews saying this was past peak and drink up, well, it's six years later and this is still going strong. Perfect match for marinated steak tips this evening.

Comments here are excellent and give a great idea of what this is like. Many notes about the acid which I agree with (and like). I find this compact, with lively acidity, tart cherries and plenty of time ahead. But not getting better.

I must have paid a lot less than SvenD and Grapenomad for this and really disagree with the 76 rating. Their main points are fair, perhaps not so distinctive of place, but it's still an enjoyable wine and I look forward to my remaining bottles. You may be surprised that it actually tastes like a Beaujolais. These should last for a while..

What Rich S, JVG and Mr Buzz said! The soft, tart, cranberry/cherry fruit and overall l lovely nature of this wine are a pleasure. I doubt it gets any better from here but such a delicious treat as is. I need to find some more of this from a more recent vintage - but still have a few more bottles of this one.

Most of my tasting notes are of wines beyond their time and this is no exception. I was dismayed to discover two of these in the cellar recently and checking in with cellar tracker didn't make me feel any better. Fill was good, cork was perfect, color a bit faded with some bricking. Initially a somewhat bland, tired, hollow, but drinkable, this opened up some and was actually pleasant and interesting. A real solid showing by the reliable, if unremarkable Parallel 45. Probably more fun than it would have been 12 years ago when this was probably at peak. Looking forward to the other bottle.

If you like your reds sweet look no further. If you approach this as maybe a lightish Ruby Port you might not be disappointed. Cracks up a bit on the finish. Not a lot to recommend despite the Monterey/Santa Barbara/Sonoma blend. Still has a ways to go is the guess here, such as it is..

Totally on board with bval's tasting note except the "meh" part. Plenty of acid and tartness, taut, somewhat angular but with a cherry core. This was really nice last night with home made pasta and home made red sauce and equally so tonight with eggplant and ground beef lasagna. The wine was absolutely a perfect match for both dinners and I wish we had a case of this. Very much a food wine. Also purchased at NH St liquor store, same price.

Dry, austere, drying out. A bit thin as well. That said, we had no trouble finishing it, not bad on its own and very nice with dinner. Drink up.

The prior note is spot on (except maybe the score but that's subjective). And, happy to add 8 years later, tannins have resolved entirely. This is distinctive and interesting but mostly an enjoyable wine. Hard to see this getting better from here. Nicely done.

My wife liked the nose, savory, rich, hint of sweet. Palette was unyielding, tight and not a lot going on. An hour later, with dinner, much better but very classic dusty, dry, dry, old school Bordeaux. Needs food - tjhis was only a wine for dinner. Drink up but should hold for a few more years at least.

The geat tasting notes below that give one a pretty good sense of this wine. My take is light to medium bodied with a pleasant strawberry cherry core. It does perhaps lack a bit of acid and it is perhaps just a tad alcohol forward. But this is a very easy going enjoyable wine that will complement all sorts of foods. I've really come to appreciate lighter style reds and this is a great example why. Happy to have a few more bottles and no sense of these going downhill anytime soon.

Interesting wine. Aromatic, almost perfume like. Earth, leather, fig. Soft, medium bodied, tannins fully resolved, opens up after a bit. Some fruit (cherry?) but not fruity. Past peak is the guess here but should be fine for at least a few more years. Not great but quite welcome on the dinner table. Drink up!

Found this rummaging around the cellar - oops! Shockingly robust and drinkable. Cork was perfect, clean all around, black on bottom. Disjointed, funky, thin finish early on. Definitely some barnyard and maybe a bit of VA. But this opened up nicely and stayed that way over the course of the night. Terrific showing for a 17 year old cdr that was not particularly distinguished at any point previously based on prior notes. Great? No. Enjoyable? Yes. Pleasant surprise.

This wine is really hanging in there. The cork was perfect, fill was great. I can see where the other review called this austere but today there is dried cherry, cranberry and leather. Nice on its own, even better with leftover roast and mushrooms over noodles. Light, dry and tart with just enough fullness and umami. Surprisingly good.

I've not had a whole lot of Loire reds and was afraid this would be over the hill but no worries there. In a cool cellar, this goes another 5 years easy. It has that slightly astringent, Bell pepper characteristic; pleasant mid-palate fruit; finishes a bit short and very dry; moderate to light intensity, appealing transparent magenta color. A fit and trim wine, this would go with all sorts of food. Would definitely buy again, and will, if I ever run across it.

Initially thin and watery on the attack with an intriguing finish of dried cherry and nice acid. With some air and time this opened up, rounded out and is rather soft for a Barbera but finishing with sour cherry and good acid balance. Not getting better from here, drink up!

We had this at a restaurant last night. Opened soft with a bit of funk. Quickly rounded into shape - good structure, fruit, depth and balance. Still young but not tannic or heavy. Should be a treat for years.

Absolutely surprising and sublime. Clearly an older wine with touch of orange at the rim. Transparent, light bodied, lithe, balanced and ethereal. Touch of sweet fruit, liquor, and slight tart finish. Blind, I would have guessed an old burgundy. Just an absolute treat, amazing showing for a 16 year old CdR.
