Fantastic depth for this price point. Traditional Sauternes with honey, citrus, and floral notes but excellent depth and secondary palate. My second favorite after d’Yquem.

Very enjoyable. Almost Burgundian earthiness topped with a sharp raisin and cassis on the tip of the tongue

Very jammy for the vintage. Wife didn’t like.

Stellar right now with ~2hrs oxidation. As mentioned, tannins less intended but structured enough to hold up to a good steak and we’ll-integrated. Wonderful secondary palate.

A real winner. Great acidity like all Trimbach but all the makings of a great Gewurtztraminer. The standard floral perfume but NOT overpowering. Drink chilled and enjoy now.

2006 Château Lynch-Bages Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)

Classic Bordeaux but somewhat underwhelming for Lynch-Bages. Cedar, tobacco, mild fruits, medium tannin. Very smooth. Enjoyable, and lively not to improve, but not as great as L-B’s best years of recent memory.

2hr decant with strong green pepper and a little past it’s prime. Still excellent for grilled beef. Minimal tannins left but still w respectable tertiary palate.

Classic sparkler, strawberrys all the way, a bit heavy on the fruit but overall satisfying.

The usual Syrah spice, but after 30 minutes in the glass really opens up with leather/tobacco notes. Very enjoyable now, but should build with time. Excellent at this price point.

Extremely jammy with cassis and cherry finish. Tannins very well controlled. Agree with drinking now - be sure to decant, heavy sediment.

Ruby red wine with little complexity and simplistic with no evolution in the glass. Overlarge berry notes and flavor.

Sweet white wine, but the top of the mark when it comes to Czech sweet whites. Sampled and bought from the estate, this is pale yellow-green in color with early notes of straw that quickly turn to the sweet multi-layered Palava grape. Complex and unique enough to enjoy with fellow wine-drinkers.

Pale green with intense acid and lemongrass flavors but very austere Riesling. If you like them dry, this is one of the best out there for drinking now.

Extremely deep nose. Currant, blackberry, a hint of smoke. Very intense on the tongue, almost velvety. Too much for my wife to handle. Decanted around one hour and another hour in glass. I suspect another 5-10 years will make it much more approachable.

Dry Riesling bought at the estate. Strong acidity with citrus and apple dominating. Almost green in color with an indeterminate nose. Excellent for Czech wine, difficult to compete with German or American dry Rieslings.

Soft mouthfeel with initial mossy/forest floor notes followed by spicy secondary palate. Exquisite now, likely to age well and improve as more complexity comes out in a few yrs.
