For the price, it is excellent. I've enjoyed all of Montes Alpha wines. This is no exception. It has a great carmenere funkiness. Vegetal up front followed with black fruit flavors. Full bodied with a medium finish. Great daily drinker.

A tiny bit of carbonation that diminished with some aggressive swirling. Tasted like Welch's grape juice. Moving on...

Chilled to 60°. Initial nose strong pepper sauce, vegetal. Very interesting. After an hour red berries started to come through. Not as peppery on the palate as the nose with acidity at the back of the tongue. Medium high tannins, but still a nice smooth mouth feel. Very enjoyable.

Initial fizz as described in other notes leaving concerns over any longevity. On the nose, raspberry and violets with some hints of earth and stone. The palette is juicy with light acidity and medium tannins. The initial spike on the tongue will hinder additional purchases.
